Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer — usually SiO₂ or SiC-based — that we apply to your clear coat, where it cures into a clear, semi-permanent layer about 1–2 microns thick.
It bonds chemically to the paint and gives you hydrophobic water beading, UV defense, resistance to chemical staining, and a deeper gloss that lasts anywhere from 1 to 8 years depending on the package. In Calgary that matters, because road salt, calcium chloride brine, hard-water spots, and freeze-thaw cycles chew through ordinary wax and sealants fast.
Here's the honest version most shops skip: ceramic coating is not armour and it won't stop a rock. It's a hardened, ultra-slick surface that keeps salt and grime from bonding to your paint and makes the car far easier to keep clean — a real chemical bond, not a wax. One layer at a year of protection through to our densest coating on every exterior surface. This is the biggest lever, and it should track how long you are keeping the car — not how the brochure reads.
A coupe takes a fraction of the product and the hours a three-row SUV does. Two "4-year Premium" quotes can differ by hundreds for exactly this reason.
Coating is optically clear, so it locks in whatever is underneath it for years. On anything that is not factory-fresh we will recommend correction first — and we will tell you honestly when your paint does not need it.
Hand wash, iron removal, clay bar and a solvent wipe-down before a drop of coating goes on. Some shops bill this separately; here it is in every tier.
Glass, wheels and calipers, and interior fabric/leather are priced individually so you only pay for the surfaces you actually want coated.
Ceramic coating is a liquid nano-polymer that bonds to your clear coat and cures into a slick, hydrophobic surface — from $899. Water beads up and sheets off, carrying road salt and grime with it. In a Calgary winter that means easier washes and a lot less brine sitting on your paint. It changes how the surface behaves — it does not turn your car into a tank.
Wax sits on top of your paint like a sticker, and it's gone in a couple of months. Ceramic is different — the SiO₂ polymer flows into the microscopic texture of your clear coat and bonds to it chemically. Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra (CSU) is a professional-only SiC ceramic coating cured into a glass-like 10H lattice. It's prized for swirl resistance, chemical stability between pH 2–13, and a 9-year manufacturer durability rating when paired with EXO topper.
Deep Gloss, Pro-Grade Baseline
CQuartz Professional is CarPro's installer-tier ceramic, known for exceptional optical depth and a rich "wet" gloss. The Professional formula is a 2-year baseline, upgradeable to 5+ years when topped with CQuartz UK 3.0 or finished with Finest Reserve.
Hybrid Ceramic + Glass Coating
Modesta BC-04 is a Japanese ceramic + glass hybrid that cures into one of the hardest aftermarket coatings available. It produces a candy-like gloss, ultra-hydrophobic shed, and a 6–7 year service life under proper maintenance.
Graphene-Infused, Anti-Static
IGL Kenzo is a graphene-infused ceramic coating engineered for anti-static dust shed and easier decontamination on dark-paint vehicles. The graphene additive helps reduce water-spot bonding—a real-world benefit for hard-water regions like Calgary.
Self-Healing Ceramic

Ceramic coating and Paint Protection Film solve different problems. Ceramic gives you hydrophobic gloss and chemical defense; PPF physically stops rock chips. For most Calgary drivers, the answer is both — PPF on the impact zones plus ceramic over the entire vehicle.
