Truck detailing in Calgary

Truck detailing in Calgary starts at $149 for a maintenance detail on a regular cab and runs to about $1,299 for a crew-cab ceramic package. Trucks cost more than cars for three reasons: roughly twice the interior in a crew cab, a box and undercarriage that hold road salt, and vinyl or rubber flooring that needs different treatment.

How much does truck detailing cost in Calgary?

Four tiers, priced by cab size because that is what actually drives the work. Half-ton, three-quarter and one-ton all sit in the same columns — what changes the number is doors and seats, not badge.

What makes a truck different work

If a shop quotes your F-150 the same as a Civic, one of two things is true: they have not looked at it, or they are planning to skip something.

A crew cab is two interiors

Four full doors, a rear bench that lifts, and a back-seat floor that collects everything a family or a crew tracks in. On a shampoo job that back row is usually more work than the front, and it is the part cheap quotes skip because nobody checks it at pickup.

Rubber and vinyl flooring is different work

Half-ton work trucks come with rubber or vinyl floors, and those want extraction and a proper dressing, not carpet shampoo. Get it wrong and you end up with a slick pedal area — which is a safety problem, not a cosmetic one.

The box, the tailgate and the fifth wheel

Bed liners hold sand, gravel dust and spilled fluid. Tailgate seams trap salt. If a truck tows, the hitch area and rear bumper take more brine spray than any other part of the vehicle. All of it gets cleaned as part of the job here.

Height means reach

A lifted three-quarter-ton roof is over seven feet up. Doing it properly means platforms and longer-reach tooling rather than leaning a mitt across a panel, which is exactly how swirls get put into a truck roof.

The undercarriage is where Calgary trucks die

Calgary runs magnesium chloride brine rather than rock salt. It works below freezing, it stays wet, and it packs into frame rails, crossmembers and the inside of rockers — the parts you cannot see until the repair is structural.

  • A mid-winter and a spring undercarriage flush is the minimum on a truck that works.
  • Bed liners trap gravel dust, sand and spilled fluid — they get pulled forward and cleaned under, not rinsed over.
  • Towing rigs take the worst of it at the hitch and rear bumper, straight into the spray off the rear tires.
  • Rubberized undercoating with cavity wax from $899 is the prevention step — cleaning is maintenance, coating is protection.

Fleet and work-truck programs

Fleets are quoted by the fleet, not by the truck. Most Calgary operators we work with run a rotating schedule so units cycle through without pulling several off a job in the same week.

  • Rotating weekly or monthly slots sized to your unit count
  • Pickup and delivery so nobody loses a driver for a day
  • Consistent spec per unit, so a truck comes back the same every time
  • Seasonal packages built for Alberta: winter defence before freeze-up, restoration in spring

Tell us unit count, what they haul and how often you want them cycled — we build the schedule and the rate around that, in writing.

Detail it, then keep it that way

A detail resets the truck. Protection is what decides how it looks the following March. On a Calgary work truck these three do the most.

Ceramic coating from $899

Brine rinses off instead of bonding. On a vehicle this size the time saved per wash is the real benefit — a coated crew cab is a fraction of the work to clean.

Ceramic coating

Undercoating from $899

Rubberized coating plus cavity wax into the frame rails and rockers. The single highest-value thing you can do to a truck that lives through Alberta winters.

Undercoating

Front-end PPF from $399

Gravel roads and highway commuting chew the leading edge of a hood and bumper. Film absorbs it, with a 10-year film warranty + lifetime workmanship guarantee.

Truck detailing questions

How much does truck detailing cost in Calgary?

Truck detailing at Obsidian Auto starts at $149 for an Essential maintenance detail and runs to $1,299 for a full crew-cab ceramic protection detail. In between, a Premium detail starts at $299 and a Signature detail — which includes single-stage paint correction — starts at $549. Crew cabs carry an adjustment over a regular cab because there is genuinely more vehicle: four doors, a second row, and a much larger roof and box to reach. You get the exact number in writing before we start.

Why does a truck cost more to detail than a car?

Three honest reasons. Surface area — a crew-cab half-ton has roughly twice the interior of a sedan and a much bigger roof, box and tailgate. Contamination — trucks work, so they arrive with gravel dust, spilled fluid, sand in the bed liner and salt packed into seams that a commuter car never sees. And access — a lifted truck roof is over seven feet up, which needs platforms and longer tooling to do without dragging a mitt across the paint.

Do you detail work trucks and fleets in Calgary?

Yes, and fleet work is quoted by the fleet rather than per truck. Most Calgary operators we work with run a rotating schedule — a set number of units per week or per month — so the whole fleet cycles through without pulling several trucks off a job at once. Tell us how many units, what they haul, and how often you want them cycled, and we will build the schedule and the rate around that.

Should I get the undercarriage cleaned on a Calgary truck?

Every spring at minimum, and mid-winter is better still. Calgary runs magnesium chloride brine on the roads from November through April, and unlike rock salt it stays wet and keeps working on bare metal well below freezing. It packs into frame rails, crossmembers and the inside of rocker panels, and the frame is the part nobody sees until it is a real problem. A wash-off is the maintenance step; rubberized undercoating from $899 is the prevention step.

How long does detailing a crew-cab truck take?

An Essential maintenance detail on a crew cab is 2 to 3 hours. A Premium with full interior shampoo runs 4 to 6. A Signature with paint correction is a full day, and a ceramic protection detail is one to two days because the coating needs cure time before the truck goes back out. We book trucks by the slot, not by the hour, so nothing gets rushed to fit a schedule.

Can you get pet hair and job-site dirt out of a truck interior?

Yes, and this is most of what we do on work trucks. Embedded pet hair in a rear bench comes out with rubber-edge tooling and time — it is billed separately because it genuinely is separate work. Ground-in job-site dirt gets hot-water extraction rather than surface shampoo. Odours from smoke, fuel or livestock respond to an ozone treatment after the deep clean, though we will tell you honestly when an interior is past what cleaning alone will fix.

Is ceramic coating worth it on a truck?

On a Calgary truck it is one of the better cases for it. A coating from $899 makes winter brine rinse off instead of bonding to the paint, and it makes a big vehicle much faster to wash — which matters more on a truck than on a car simply because there is more of it. Coat the wheels too if the truck sees gravel roads. What ceramic will not do is stop rock chips on the leading edge; for that you want film on the front end.

Do you offer pickup and delivery for trucks?

We do. Pickup and delivery runs across Calgary and is free on Signature and ceramic packages, or a small flat fee on the entry tiers — waived if you bundle two services. It is what most of our truck and fleet clients use rather than losing a driver to a waiting room for a day. The truck is detailed in our climate-controlled SE studio at #3, 239 61 Ave SE and brought back to you. Our hours are Sat–Thu 9am–5pm · Closed Fri.
